Home › Hard-to-Find Medications

Can’t find your medication? We’ll go looking.

We work with multiple wholesalers, specialty suppliers, and manufacturers, so when a medication is short or you need a particular version of it, we have more places to look.

Shortages and back-orders

When your usual pharmacy says “it’s on back-order,” that often means their supplier is out. We check several sources, and if a product truly isn’t available anywhere, we’ll call your prescriber with an equivalent alternative so you’re not left without therapy.

The same manufacturer, every fill

Generic medications from different manufacturers contain the same active ingredient, but the inactive ingredients, pill appearance, and release mechanism can differ. Some patients notice a difference when their pharmacy switches suppliers, particularly with medications like levothyroxine or some extended-release products. If you do well on one manufacturer’s version, we can often keep you on it, fill after fill.

Specific manufacturers and country of manufacture

Some patients prefer medications made by a particular manufacturer or produced in a particular part of the world. Tell us what you’re looking for, and we’ll check which FDA-approved versions are available through our suppliers and what they cost. We can’t promise every product is obtainable, but we’ll tell you what we find.

Filler, dye, and allergen sensitivities

If you react to a dye, lactose, gluten, or another inactive ingredient, we can look up the inactive ingredients in each available version and source one that avoids it. (We do not compound medications. We find commercially manufactured products that fit your needs.)

How to start

  1. Call or text us the medication name, strength, and what you need (in stock, specific manufacturer, avoid an ingredient).
  2. We check our sources and call you back with availability and price.
  3. Transfer your prescription to us (we handle it) or have your prescriber send it directly.

Frequently asked questions

Can you get a medication my pharmacy says is back-ordered?

Often, yes. We order through multiple wholesalers and specialty suppliers, so a shortage at one supplier doesn’t always mean it’s unavailable. Call us with the name and strength and we’ll check.

Can I request a specific generic manufacturer?

Yes. Tell us which manufacturer you want, and we’ll check availability and price and keep you on it for future fills whenever it’s available.

Can you get medications made in a specific country?

We can check which FDA-approved versions of your medication are available from our suppliers, including where they are manufactured, and source the one you prefer when possible.

Do you compound?

No. We don’t compound. We find commercially manufactured products without the fillers, dyes, or allergens you need to avoid.
